another top mount issue

ive searched but cant seem to find answers.
my drivers front top mount is making a knocking noise. it starts from pulling away upuntil about 35mph. im pretty sure its all assembled correctly and they are new about 4 months ago. they are febi so should be good quaitly.
i read that jacking the front up and letting it back down can help this but is there anything else that can be done or is it just a case of a new top mount?
its almost like its too dry and needs a bit of lubing up of some sort.

How sure are you its the top mount? I think its prob CV joint or wheel bearing.
Park car up, open bonnet and get someone to full lock the car both ways, whilst you put your ear to the top mount(s). you'll hear exactly if its the top mount making the noise.

may have had a bad top mount bearing with the set, can buy just the bearing for 4 quid on ebay, worth trying. i had the same problem and i changed my lower arms, drop links, cv boot and it ended up being top mount bearing lol

im pretty sure its the top mount. opened up the bonnet the got a mate to rock the car hard on that side and could hear it coming from the top mount.
but i will check the bearing and the cv joint at the weekend if i get a chance.
