Depends on spec of 1.8t and downpipe used, if it is 2.5" then Jetex is a good choice, 3"I think will need to be custom.

im in the middle of building a 20vt at the moment.

I'm fitting a trackslag system. very well build specifically for the job.
not cheap but you get what you pay for. its a true 2.5" system

heard meany good things about the trackslag systems  not cheep but they do come across as they are desinged to perform.

that said fitted a jetex to a mates car and that fitted very well but really didn't like the massive indent in the over axel bend is it reallt nessaserry and i'm sure there are neater ways of acheveing the same effect.

Yeah crushing a pipe to get over an obstacle is not performance based. Same with powerflop crushing every bend internally! I got Trackslag and its the only way to go

Well they certainly seem to think so. 

Although apparently it's not possible to make direct comparisons to other systems...... now, if it was me producing an exhaust system that specifically delivered genuine gains I'd want to be doing back to back comparisons with other people's offerings, rather than shying away from them.

I agree I'd like to see some back to back tests on different setups including Trackslag, unfortunately I've never run the 20vt on anything else, the standard 16v system i had was shot in places so never got used in the end. It might be, that because golfs aren't exactly huge turbo'd or twin turbo'd that pretty much any 2.5" system would suffice? It might be that you really see the gains when pushing 300?bhp +? Maybe the mandrel bends, 2 boxes and full 2.5" don't make a noticeable difference at this level...? I needed a full system, and a good one at that. These things are lovely bits of kit, from an engineering point of view I find them hard to better? I was steered away from powerflow because of crushing bends etc, and knew I had to buy once and buy right. Had a few people who know their onions (and exhausts) look at it pre and post fitment and they've been impressed, but too have said that gains may only be negligible/marginal over alternatives

i have a full system magnex on mine. its 2.5", fits nicley and looks ok. its not overly loud but gives a nice burble on the way down the revs. it has 2 round boxes and the back box then the tailpipe

If your not lowered then you don't need the flattened pipe over the rear beam, however if you are lowered you will need it... It won't cost you any real power in the grand scheme of things... The cast maid old prob costs you more power..

Got a qpeng down pipe and twin box jetex on mine, fits nice, not loud at all, but most importantly doesn't boom or drone on the motorway, and doesn't seem to hold the car back, still goes like stink!
