2.0 GTI engine problems

Hi
I have a mk 4 GTI 2.0l 52 plate - I have had the Maf sensor, Cat and am about to get the bank 1 and 2 lambda sensors replaced - I just cant seem to get the bloody engine warning light to go away!! It has done 83K and I have owned the vehicle since 77K. Does anyone else have any more ideas? I AM GETTING TOWARDS THE END OF MY TETHER. The fuel consumption has always been quite poor but I swear it is worse since this light came on....
Many thanks

The eml will go off once you clear the codes. It will come back again soon if the fault still exists.
You will need vagcom or someone with scanning equipment to do it

Have you scanned for fault codes?

Cheers dom069 and WadGTi for your responses - the garage said that the fault code has changed each time I have taken it back in to warrant each part being changed in the order that they have been - the eml has been reset and switched off after each repair...it has taken only a couple of days post repair for the eml to come back on

Can you find out from the garage what the current fault code is and post it up on here? I'm sure between us we can help figure it out. I'd be surprised if the lambdas are at fault, they rarely fail.
