"We don't know why your order is delayed but it could be the DSG, don't worry we see you are about to be given a confirmed BW... oh wait, did you order a camera?  Unfortunately there are a few delays..."

"We see a lot of customers are using the online tracker.  They must be concerned about the delays with their order and want more information.  I know, let's take down the only thing they can look at for "maintenance" reasons that should help smooth things over."

"We didn't anticipate the level of demand for this model.  You pre ordered months ago?"

"Build allocation is complex and affected by many factors.  For example despite having months worth of orders placed and higher than expected demand we felt it important to build hundreds of demos instead of clearing the backlog."

"Your mistake was you preordered.  Means we can just string you along while taking and delivering other customers who we think would go elsewhere if told to expect a big wait."

"Our dealers are upset they're not getting any income because we haven't fulfilled any of their customers orders yet.  No problem, tell them to start flogging all those demos we made in the meantime."
