Lane assist is camera based.

I was thinking that highbeam assist would operate on the same sensor that the auto lights operate on (which is on the inside of the windscreen at the base of the rear view mirror stalk attachment) if no further hardware is required. If further hardware is required then perhaps it is an enhanced light sensor, or additional one somewhere.

As with the XDS on the Scirocco - VW aren't shy on charging you for an option that requires only VCDS activation.

I suspect the wheel base difference is either a mis-print or more likely due to differences in suspension geometry...

It is only 6mm, the shells will be the same...

High beam assist uses a black and white camera behind mirror

No it will be the bumper design, look where the measurements are taken from, chassis will be standard throughout range.

The bumpers are irrelevant its the wheelbase that is different. Probably the best explanation is that the non GTI model shown doesn't have the independent suspension causing a longer wheelbase.

GeorgeK,  do you know if the voice activated audio requires additonal hardware as well?

Knew I was  just done a course based on GTI/GTD

Could you build us one quicker from spares than VW Wolfsburg can supply since being on that course?
