LED rears
« on: 08 August 2013, 19:33 »
I have a 09 GTI and would love to fit the new style LED rear lights however after browsing the forums I am still non the wiser as to what it is I need to order and the ability to code them so I don't get the bulb out warnings . if any one is in the Essex area and can help with parts to order, fitting and coding.

any help would be much appreciated

many thanks
Lawrence

finding them second hand for a decent price is like trying to find rocking horse sh*t. best price new is from car systems in poland, here: http://www.carsystems.pl/golf-mk6-r20-led-taillights-for-uk-and-rhd-market-adapter-5k0945093ag-5k0945094ag,id384.html

genuine units with kufatec adapters. works out around £407 plus postage.

fitting is pretty straight forward and so is the coding (it's a matter of changing 1 number I believe). if you aren't close to any tuning garages, try to dealers for fitting and coding.

Also if its 09 plate you might need to change the body module controller aswell, there between £150 and £200 I think!

has anyone tried these? I know depo are a high spec brand, I wouldn't want aftermarket lights that look nothing like the OEM kit

Yeah, these are the one i have ( thats why i linked them)

They are great reps, you just need to buy a red bulb for the fog:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281082974967?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

and buy a new holder for £3 off amazon for the white reserve bulb - so £309 in total.

I have the smoked ones and they look the bomb:

They are fine if you swap the bulbs around, they only fail because the fog light is a white bulb, swap for red
