So I got asked to full service a Touran, sort an inlet flap motor and have a look at an ESP/ABS issue if I got time. Already been to 3 garages, all sensors changed and still nothing.

Well I get it in and take a looksie.

Typical VAG module failure with the brake pressure sensor. Tell him the price and he says well we'll have to get that done soon.

Just before dropping the vehicle back I decided to give it a bit of a clout with a socket extension and a hammer. What have I got to lose?

Nothing excessive just a firm tap.

Anyways drop it back which is less than  mile away. He rang me yesterday and said it's been off for the first time in 2 years for a complete 2 weeks.

Coincidence? Possibly. What have you got to lose?

Where all my moneys went.

Ha ha brilliant ! You usually have to replace the abs pump for those. Tps do a repair kit.

some people have had success getting the dealers to do it for free out of warranty. I might have to give the pikey fix a try, it's scary how common this fault is.

That fault code will get repaired under warranty as long as its a uk supplied car and mileage is not too excessive
