Is the red side tapes standard on these? I have a 4 door 16v anni which was completely standard including the factory chrome tipped exhaust when I got it (which actually rusted through and fell off soon after lol). No red tape in the sides though. Only in the bumpers.

No the tape to the sides is not standard- some people like it, some don't.

I like it as think it completes the car as the side trim has the indent for the tape anyway.

I always thought it should have been there from the factory tbh.

I agree or it looks like they couldn't be bothered to go all the way round.

haha ok, well I was pretty sure mine hadn't been played about with so was unsure as to why it would have been removed. I am in two minds about it, I think I will buy some and fit it to the doors of my own car then decide whether it works or not.
A number of non-car enthusiast friends have commented that it looks like it is missing and I should finish it off! I am not sure whether that's a good thing or a bad thing though....

I had the stickers going all the way round on my old 8v but just did front an back bumpers on the current 16v, just as Wolfsburg intended.

The halford stuff does the job buddy when your looking for some tape
