An odd question I realise.
I inherited my late father's 1991 GTi 8V last year. Though low mileage, it hadn't been looked after beyond necessary servicing.
Over the past year I've done a lot to improve matters, but there are a few things which don't work which I ought to deal with. Neither the oil pressure coolant level warning lights work, or the MFA or revcounter. My mother (who doesn't drive) mentioned that my father had the revcounter disabled as he found it confusing, but I know no more than that. it may also be a complete red herring - as a non-driver with no mechanical sympathies, she may have misinterpreted something else which was done.
I wondered if there is a single fuse or plug disconnected which might disable these functions. Going through what wiring diagrams I have though, I can't see anything obvious which would disable just these, without affecting other functions.
Before I start pulling the dashboard apart, can anyone think of there's anything simple that I've missed?
Cheers,
Bill.
