I work in the industry Mate and trust me don't bother with the AA......customer service is shocking. I am with the RAC and have personal cover for me and the missus so we can just be a passenger in any car and we are covered. You can get cover from Brittania Rescue, Equity Redstar or Interpartner Assist......all decent companies really.

Do you have anything with your bank account?  Some offer breakdown cover as part of the banking.

Be careful with the stuff from Banks and included with insurance as most only give basic cover which ends up costing you afortune to upgrade when you are broke down on the side of the road. Check your cover suits your needs.

I'm with ADAC, who couldn't give a hoot how old your car is and provide all-Europe cover for Mrs Hell and I for £80 per year.

Call them out in the UK and the AA will come out.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

I use the RAC, when I broke down repeatedly in my old car they were always spot on. Got to ride shotgun a few times as they towed my car a few hours back home.

Thanks for all the replies. I have direct line insurance which includes green flag breakdown cover for my Golf GTTDI 170. I was hoping to change my cover to personal cove.r I could then cover the MK 2 GTI I am bringing over from NI on saturday. I was told that green flag do not cover cars over 16 years old. As my cover ends in November I might take out cover with a different company for personal use to cover both cars then not renew for the TDI in November. My main concern is the trip from NI to cornwall .
