Well took my car to my cuz garage as it was raining, and we set off with the task of cleaning or changing...
- Rocker cover (Chrome) & gasket.
- Inlet manifold (Chrome) & gasket.
- PCV lower breather pipe (Silicone).
- Injector seats. (upgraded to seat leon ones, white).
- Injector lower seals & give the injectors a clean.
- Renew TB gasket.

First we set off by removing the fuel rail and inlet manifold, I have never done this before and it did take us an hour or two, however we where being extremely slow to make sure we didn't get anything wrong and this included a few coffee breaks

A quick shot of the tool box about to get a good seeing too

Before shot.

Side by side difference shot between rocker & inlets (inlet already has new seats in).

Got the inlet & rocker off, at this point we remembered to fit the new PCV lower breather pipe, this is the only pipe I have not yet replaced and i have still been having that 17705 error code, now I was not able to see any splits in the "T" part or pipe that was removed however the pipe on the right of the "T" part that connects to the Rocker breather did snap in half when we where trying to remove it so I am hoping there was a split init where it snapped the pipe was also extremely brittle. Anyhoo I'll delete the code again and if it comes back now it MUST be a ghost code.

Now that is done, time to fit new Rocker & gasket

for anyone wondering after checking the haynes the bolts on the rocker are
10NM and to tighten from middle into a star shape outwards.

After this we had some lunch and then went to fit the inlet, it was at this point my heart sank!

Its hard to tell from the pic below but have a look and i'll explain afterwards, the old inlet is the top picture and the new inlet in the bottom picture.

Well done if you spotted it, however if you didn't, if you look at the top picture you will notice that my old inlet had two outlets for pipes in the middle, one for my PCV pipe and the other pipe connected to an other pipe that passes though the top of the inlet and goes somewhere. (If anyone knows what that pipe is, please let me know).
At this point I was extremely angry with the eBay seller as I first got my rocker from him and I compired the part number on his rocker and it matched mine, further more he took a picture of his engine bay and showed me his "AUM" stamp. a week later he put his inlet up and told me it was from the same engine, so, without checking I selected "buy it now" thinking I could trust him, then stupidly without looking I went and got it cleaned, chromed, fitted the seats, fitted the new gasket & inlet is now bolted to my car and im like ....

So im faced with two situations.
A: Remove the new inlet and re-fit my old inlet which I promissed to GTI_James, then buy another one and waste time/money getting that cleaned and chromed again....
OR
B: fabricate something to fit both pipes to one port.
So went to speak to my anty and asked to borrow her much loved Mk5 GT so I can pop to halfords and get something. To my supprize she let us borrow her car

at this point I must point out that I am insured to drive any car as long as the car is insured and I have the owner permission.

So I found some old piping from when I bypassed my N249, and set off to halfords and got...

After abit of chopping and working, I came up with this.

And here is the finished product

Next plan is to spray my TB and buy an R8 cap
