Everyone has the right to watch it if they want to. It's so easy to block these sites at home. Just google "how to block sites at home" why does the government need to censor even more of the Internet?

Agreed. Bet the ISP call centres will be in stitches when most of the males sheepishly call up asking for the porn block to be lifted

This is all being pushed through on hysteria over peados and tabloid reporting.
Might I point out the cja was brought in to stop raves in fields but was quickly used to subdue your rights to protest.
It's not about the immediate subject matter which can be quite vile but what else the act will be used to inhibit.

I agree, this is just an excuse to piggy back all kinds of other censorship rules through law.

I wonder how feasible it is to create an alternative the www system that is anonymous and can't easily be censored?

Has anyone heard of Darknet? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darknet_%28file_sharing%29

And can this be a viable alternative to the www?

Also there is this thing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternative_DNS_root

If the internet traffic moved away or split from the www to a more decentralised model would it be harder to censor? We can keep the www for e-commerce but if there was an anonymous alternative that might be better. Any thoughts?
