turbo problems : s

Hi there im new to the site. Ive recently bought a mk4 golf gti 1.8 turbo 20v. Ive got a problem with it. Some times when i start the car the turbo wont work but if i turn it off then back on it will work any 1 no what it could be? Plus when i accelarate the turbo hesatates and the power hits a wall im really confuesed

could be a number of thing best getting it scanned for fault codes an see what comes up

Im getting it done tomorro. Any chance u know what it could be if its not the turbo? No lights come up on the dash :s
