Need help diagnosing a noise
« on: 22 July 2013, 16:19 »
Afternoon all, lovely day to be fixing the car...

I have a noise/squeak coming from the aux drivebelt are but am not sure what i should replace first.

Its either the belt tensioner or the alternator clutch pulley.

The noise is more prominent when you start the car and it is at tick over, its like squeak, squeak, squeak etc etc.

When you rev the engine above about 2000 rpm it goes, it also makes a noise when turning lock to lock.

Any ideas what i should be replacing ive got a new drive belt but am not sure what else i should go for.

Any help appreciated.

TIA

Did you replace with the alternator still in situ?
