Boost Gauge Fitting

Hello, im after a little help if anyone know's, iv fitted a boost gauge to my GT TDi MK4 PD150 gauge mounted electric's done but unsure with to tee in to? the kit came with a 4mm tee piece iv been told it's the main pipe (intercooler) but iv also been told i can tee in to one of the 3 smaller pipes that run along the bulkhead but no one seems to no for sure. any advise but we sweet.

I was told that you get the best reading from point closest to the inlet mani after the throttle ,so I tapped into the fuel pressure reg pipe.

Really,which pipe is that please ( excuse my ignorance ). is there no fuel in that pipe then just pressure?

Two ways

Get an EGR delete kit with a take off or

Tap into the pipe coming off the EGR pipe and down the side of the engine

Ignore the post above (apologies Screech) as thats what you do on the 1.8T's..........

Your pipe will be black (mine is blue as per pic)

First of all WOW how clean is that bay :)
got ya now it is the main big pipe then thats a job for the weekend coming thanks for that dude. someone said i could tap into one of the 3 small pipes running along the firewall/bulkhead coming from the EGR but know one seems to one which.but thanks for help dude.

That was a few years back  :laugh:

If you want a neater and leak free job I would get an EGR delete kit. Only problem is if your car isnt mapped you will get a warning light on the dash  :sad:

Got ya,yeah its mapped it was a 150 now arouind 196bhp, £50 for kit unless i can find a second hand one around & a pipe.

Niceone,iv got the diamond blanking plate already & this to finish it off then maybe but that kit looks like everything's there.
