Okay, so I went for a run with the parents on Thursday which involved and hour and an half drive on the motorway each way.
We were travelling at a steady 70, dropping down to 50 at places due to speed restrictions and during the whole trip we could all hear a noise that we were not able to pinpoint where it was coming from.
It was a continuous sound which was kinda like an aircraft engine noise when cruising except about every 10 seconds the sound dipped in pitch for a moment.
No windows were open, door seals are all perfect and it didn't really sound like a wind noise to be honest. Aircon was on for the return journey but off on the outbound journey.
Jacked the car up today and there is no free play at all in the wheels. Both real wheels when spinning them made a rubbing sound every rotation (is this normal?). Front wheels where very difficult to spin and required a lot of effort (is this usual for a DSG vehicle? (car was in neutral)).
Anyone else come across a similar strange noise driving over 50mph? Or any thoughts before I get the car booked in for the dealers to look at as it is still under warranty?
TIA
