2nd to third gear issue

When giving it the beans, obviously clear road and within the speed limit 2nd to third just dont slot in nicely. Theres no crunching or grinding its just that i dont find it first time.
Is there an easy adjustment to help this matter or is this a sign of wear and tear.

You could try resetting the selector cables, there is an easy guide on youtube.
