Hampshire gritting the roads...
« on: 19 July 2013, 13:08 »
Just heard on the radio that Hampshire CC are sending there gritter outs to stop the road from melting. They are spreading crushed rock dust apparently...

Never heard anything like it before, a tad interesting I think...And definitely made me change my mind about washing my car; a quick pressure washing it is!

Some other people who live on my new build estate have had their drives ruined by the heat by simply turning their steering wheel while sat stationary.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

Our roads on the Isle of Wight seem to have a habit of melting pretty frequently.

We had a lot of it last year, gritters were out a fair bit.

And just to think, we're usually the last ones to get anything!

They've been dusting the roads in East Devon for a few weeks now.

We've recently had our road dug up and downgraded to black tarmac and I've already put 4 jack wheel holes in it
