2e airflow meter on pb engine?

hi do any of you guys know if an early mk3 gti airflow meter (2e engine) will work properly on a mk2 pb engine? I know it runs ok as I had 1 on a mk2 before but is the calibration the same or does the spring inside need adjusting at all? cheers.
