Retro fit VW Bluetooth
« on: 17 July 2013, 10:36 »
I have just retro-fitted a VW Bluetooth 9w7 (K) model complete with separate wiring loom and mic to my 2010 GTD. My car already had voice control but not bluetooth. My question is I now find myself with 2 mics. Will I have to use 2 microphones ( 1 for voice control and the other for phone use) or is there a way to route everything through the original microphone!

The new mic should be wired into the retro fitted piggyback wiring harness in different positions depending on what radio or other features the car has.

It's too late now, but this kit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-BLUETOOTH-KIT-SEAT-SKODA-MFD3-RNS-510-RNS-310-RCD-510-RNS-315-5K0-035-730-D-/271240952202?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f2738798a comes the plugs on the mic wire (white ones) to enable it to be easily plugged into whichever part of the loom as necessary. This kit would make your current mic redundant, so you could just unplug it at the overhead console end.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.
