Help, What is this?!

Found this wedged down the back of the battery after having a bit of a dust down in the engine bay,
Where should it be?!

I think it's a cover for the wires at the back of the battery box, but not 100% sure.

maybe the cover for the fuses on top of your battery if you have them

Yeah I was a touch concerned all life as I know it would come crashing down to an horrific end!
And that's probably because it belongs to my girlfriend, as I was taking the photo, I can assure you my hands are in no such condition!

in relation to that part it could be anything from a battery/fuse cover to something VW put in there to bring up such a thread as this one

Well Yeah, I need both hands to hold my phone else all hell will break loose!
And it turns out that it's supposed to slot in at the back of the battery to protect the wires running to the fuses on top.
