Newbie - looking at buying a Mk4 GTi this week! (Hopefully)

Hi Guys and Gals,

My name is Jas, and I hope to have a Mk4 GTi by the end of this week if all goes well!

I've got a s14a 200sx at the moment, but I have decided to take it off the road for an overhaul. So I need a fun daily car (that I may tinker with if my wife let's me  ) and decided I want a Golf.

I'm viewing a 2.0 tomorrow, but I'm leaning more towards the 1.8T simply because of the power difference. Don't know too much about the differences in the model years and engines at the moment; seeing some 1.8T's with 125hp and other's with 150hp - so any advice is appreciated

welcome mate  stay away from the 2.0 as they are terrible go for the 1.8t but no 1.8t will have 125bhp should either be 150bhp or for a late mk4 or anniversary its 180bhp

I think I must have been looking at the 1.8 non turbo.... Think I may have found my car - doing a final viewing tomorrow night
