I had my car serviced by a friend of mine who works at kwikfit, used to work at garage D in watford etc. Now hes blanked off my Recirculation valve as it apparently gives it more response and turbo chatter. now it sounds good im not going to lie and i get a bit of pop from my exhaust once giving it a bit of boost to 5000rpm, but after its had a little rag, it starts smoking quite a bit from the turbo/recirculation valve, appaerntly its nothing to worry about, and on the other half i had people surrounding my car yesterday saying my turbo is gonna blow haha!, but it being my car I am worried. Now my mate is willing to put it back on without no hassle or messing around.

Can anyone send some advice?

thanks

Dom.

He's done what!!??

VAG engines rely on recirculating the charged air.  Put it back ASAP before your mate is paying out for a new turbo!!

Get a Forge 007p fitted if you havent already done so

Some mate you got by the way  :lipsrsealed:  you can understand why he works at Kwikfit

Tell your 'mate' to read this thread

Hes against forums haha! and saying how it doesnt effect it, he had it on his golf which was running almost 290bhp, and tbh it did run fresh in all honesty! but all cars are not the same, Ive asked him to put it back so hopefully it should be on by tonight or tomorrow, thanks guys as i was getting worried why my car would smoke after a little rag! i gave it some quite a bit on the way to work in stevenage on the a505 and a602, and its like it was trying so much to let out steam, is there no possible way to re-wire the recirculation valve myself?

thanks for advice guys much appreciated :) will get some pics up of my golf so far once i've installed all the new lights

would you not have been better asking on here before letting bob the builder near your car as he certainly knows nothing about a golf 1.8t
