VW factory shutdown
« on: 13 July 2013, 07:59 »
Hi guys, we all know that the Wolfsburg factory is, or is about to close for a 3 week annual maintenance cycle.

Does anyone know if this means car production stops completely, or will they still be producing albeit at a much reduced capacity ?

Do you know it's only basic Golfs, or just it seems likely?

Ah, I suppose it makes sense though.  I mean, they are so behind on Golf orders but there is no shortage of GTIs they can't sell them fast enough.

Oh wait...

I had thought of going over to Wolfsburg for a weekend and volunteering to make a start on my GTD. I've got a basic toolkit - adjustable wrench, a couple of spanners and a Philips screwdriver. Can't be that difficult, can it?

Don't they employ robots to do it because they can pay them less than minimum wage and they rarely go on strike?
