Very odd email but like mentioned,  what can actually go wrong apart from a payment not been sent to you and a sale fallingthrough? It's not like the guy has the keys or even address of you car is it...

I wouldnt do it. It all comes down to the distance selling act. Basically he can buy it without seeing it but if he says he was misconceived by you on condition or anything he can reject it and PayPal will give him his money back. It's either security by him or a scam he can say to PayPal he has returned the car and how will they now so you could be a car and money down.

The best thing for distance selling is a bank transfer, if he has pay pal he must have a bank account. Ask him for a transfer that way he doesn't have a come back or he can't scam you, the money is in your possession And not in an online account. If he is not willing to do a bank transfer (which is free) I think it's a scam.

When I was selling my Audi I was constantly getting emails along the line of

'I'll give you full asking price but I need the car container shipped to Africa for my daughter- payment on delivery'

Yeah right....
