where to start ???

I am completely new to the car modification scene , i recently got my first Golf ! 1.6 16v s and i just have no idea where to start when it comes to mods ...

Wheres best to start ?
I would love a few pointers  :grin:
I havent got a clue.....

I'd look towards cosmetic mods , suspension alloys body kits etc , spending money on the performance won't be beneficial.

Hmm id say save up and get a 1.8t if your into tuning and modding engine etv.. otherwise cosmetic mods all you can do on the 1.6

Have a look at a couple build threads, as you might get some inspiration, or ideas of stuff that you would like on your dub :wink: In my sig below is a link to my beloved mk4 build thread, which will take you to the correct part of this website :smiley:

As mentioned, if you've got a 1.6, I'd maybe do a little cosmetic work, but you're not gonna get much out of that block. The 1.8 turbo GTI's or the 130/150 diesel GT's are the mk4's to properly play about with :cool:
