Green open cone inside original airbox
« on: 11 July 2013, 14:30 »
Hi

Does anyone have an induction kit fitted, butwith only the top of the airbox removed and the bottom still in place? Ive seen a few like this and think it could be good for airflow and limiting the amount of hot air taken in.
Im thinking of getting a Green open cone and fitting it in this way. Will this fit?
Also, do Green, Jetex etc.. induction kits actually keep a lot of dust / dirt out away from the turbo? I want the increased air flow but obviously dont want to damage the turbo.

Thanks

Any decent filter will do exactly that, any dust etc will be filtered out. I don't see the point in leaving half the airbox in personally, you'd be better off with a proper heat shield and cold air feed. Have a look in the induction thread for more information.

+1 dont see the point apart from.the bottom air box acting as a heat shield. But you can buy proper heat shields now that would do the job

Better off with the heatshield as it will stop a lot of the heat soak.
