« on: 11 July 2013, 10:20 »
2001 AUM...... out of blue today just put alittle hard push in 1st andvon gear change made a huge pop back fire sound alittle  smoke but car drives 100% spot on no engine lights nothing . Previous to this i have had odd pops from 1st to 2nd really mild though. All boost is fine no odd sounds any ideas? Bad map?

I have the same problem but happens when I brake hard?? Had to do emergency stop about week ago and again yesterday and there was a loud bang/pop, thought my tyre had blown or something had gone on the brakes but checked it all and everything is fine.
Also passed MOT week ago and had new lower arms and bushes put on so can't be any issues with the brakes or suspension can it??

One thing I did notice was an eggy smell after the second time kinda catalytic converter smell but then it could of been something in the air?!?!

Baffled and slightly worried

Any of the lines off the inlet manifold including the one underneath. You can pull air in through them under load which cause popping and banging

My idle issue started after my dyno session wonder if a pipe not on or summit...
