Hi all, looking for a manual adjust cable for my 8v gti.
anybody out there got the part numbers, or at least the specific model of VW I should be ordering one off?

Cheers in advance

find a place that sells quniton hazell QH products as they do both auto and manual adjust for most models (inc the 8v gti).

can i ask why manual adjust?? a decent quality cable will last as long as a manual adjuster

I'm just tired of them failing really. I have 2 to change and the manual ones are apparently a lot cheaper.. not sure I'll find QH parts out in Mallorca, but I'll ask.

maybe you should try a genuine vw auto adjust cable. that's assuming the ones that are breaking aren't genuine?

Again, i dont mind the auto cables. But if i have to buy 2 I'm not wanting to pay dealer prices.. Especially here in spain.

If manual cables are really half then price, and dont break like the non genuine auto adjusters do then im going to fit them.

you could always modify the auto adjust cable. its just a case of dismantling the adjuster and putting a spacer in the cable instead. they rarely need adjusting anyway. I done about 50k before I had to adjust mine. the cable stretch can compensate for the clutch disc wear.
