Ouch!
« on: 08 July 2013, 20:49 »
It was nice and sunny today so I thought I'd better clean my car, brought my car to the front of the house, started getting all my cleaning gear out f the garage then BANG!

Some kind lady decided to reverse into my car

She drove past it then 2 mins later reversed into it because she didn't see it when using her reverse camera

To much tech sometimes, maybe we rely on it to much. What's wrong with looking over your shoulder.

Feel for you.  Looks like it took quite bash, you must be really p!ssed.  Are those rears aftermarket or oem?  Covered on your insurance?

Had a close call myself today.  Walking back to my parked car to see some woman reversing (very badly) at a bizarre angle into space next to mine and nearly clipping my car.  I scowled at her and she drove off to look for a much bigger space that she might actually stand a chance of getting into.  What is wrong with people!

I live in fear of car park dings from clumsy f##king people or people who don't care about cars. With kids parent and child spaces are a must. Unfortunately my youngest is now 8, how much longer can I use them without the dirty looks?

I never bother with parent and child spaces but have taught my 7 year old NEVER to open the car door without checking proximity of other car first.  She's a pro at it now.

The rear LED lights are aftermarket and I haven't told my insurance about them

Now, do I play dumb and say they were on the car when I bought it or do I tell them about the lights.

It's going to be an insurance job and she has already admitted liability to her insurance.

Forgot all about my voluntary £400 excess as well which was another kick in the balls

I've always had a large excess to bring down the premium and I've never had to pay it (18 years no claims upto now touch wood)

I'd play dumb on this occasion.  But if you do more mods, declare them.

How's the excess relevant if it's not your insurance it is being claimed against?
