A Clamping question
« on: 06 July 2013, 00:12 »
OKay this is driving me mad

have recently brought a anniversary backbox and center pipe for the golf

cut the old one off and the old mount bolts where rotten so cut them off too didn't damage clamp

the new exhaust came with a clamp same as one on the car

clamped it all into place put the car back together sounds fantastic!

driving to work and the back box dropped off now the clamp was fully tightened

tried swapping over nothing,

exhaust is a standard VW one so surely the clamp should fit? but seems to work loose without the bolts becoming loose

can I put something inside the clamp to give it extra grip? or am I better off buying dremel to trim it down a bit?

anyone got any suggetsions?

The anniversary back box was a standard one not an aftermarket ? I didnt think the anni one would sound any different to a normal discreet version as its the same just with a tip..... I could be wrong

im guessing you didnt use any exhaust paste and it was blowing abit hence sounding better and it falling off
