Neither did I.
Worth checking to see if its the same as mine was. Its very simple to check.
The thing is they wont know what it is. I eductaed my local dealers about the cause of the fault!
As I did about 4 others on here who have had the issue since.

I replaced 4 of them already on mine. I think the one to go for is the revision f??  Some revisions are crap.  Its pretty easy except getting the top bolt in. You have to do it blind.

I thought this was an issue of the past (mk5 GTI) does the latest rev G still tear easy?

Might have a quick peak tomorrow....can remember, is it located near the drivers side wheel, and best to take drivers wheels off yeah?

Drivers side up in the engine. I never removed the wheel. Dunno if it makes it easier
