The wipers are brutal lads, really crap!! Judder and squeeeek

I had the exact same issue with my GTD and no amount of cleaning products or numerous wiper blade changes ever fixed it. The only thing that eventually cured it (to fix an entirely unrelated issue) was a windscreen change!!! Please tell me there's a simpler fix then that?

Yes there is - Bosch Aerotwin when they do a MK7 OEM fit. Valeo wipers that VW seem to favour are utter sh!te.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....

I tried Bosch aeros on the GTD too and after a brief spell where I thought it was fixed, the squeeking returned. The only permanent fix was a windscreen change, which was an OEM VW screen - warranty replacement.
This would lead me to believe that there is some wax / coating on the screens from the factory that isn't being removed properly in the PDI?

Good to hear you got the LED lights sorted

Thanks for the heads up on the wipers, as other mk 6 GTI owners have said they are not great, so no improvement there

Happy days from here on in Joe!

Thanks! Yeah, apart from the wipers, all good now. Good job it hardly ever rains here

Have to say, it's a beaut to drive. I used to find my GTD lurched a bit through the bends and especially on roundabouts. On my way home from work this evening the GTI felt so planted on the same bends. It literally handles like its on rails!!!!

Could be, although i had a replacement screen on my first Scirocco as a cure and it didn't cure it.

There is a lot of talk about the wiper issue on the standard Golfs.

Not sure I'll be too happy if the wipers are crap. Surely on a car as such as this they can get that right?

Have you mentioned the wipers to your dealer Joe? If so, what did they say?

Looks like VW factory QC is as good as ever
Sad to read they are still having the some buid issues.
The wiper design should have been sorted by now. :undecided:
