Anyone going to get a tracker/remote immobiliser fitted? Just noticed as an option when searching for insurance.

I don't think it would be recognised by my insurance company but would give a bit of peace of mind.

trackers are easy to block the signal so a waste of cash if you ask me a decent alarm would be better

What's the standard factory alarm like in the GTI? Does it offer much protection over the immobiliser?

I have something similar on my GTIs but wired in rather than battery. More for peace of mind. Most theifs will pinch a car and then park it up in a street sonewere for a few hours to see if the police find it. If not then it will be recollect it and disappear forever.
I also have pentagon safety glass on one of them.

I like the fact that it can be taken out, i thought about just doing the phone thing but it's keeping it charged and not great support, i like the fact you can check it via an app too.

This is true but wouldn't you like the police to catch whoever steals it??

why? so they can have a slap on the wrist and pay you £20 victim charge. the police wouldn't catch them anyway they never do.
