RAs with rubber for 150 sound very good...
It's a mk2. Fill it, drive it, enjoy it.

My bro paid 700 for his tornado red 3dr g/1990 digi 8v.. It had a rotten wing so did look bad, but 30quid and 30mins later!!! A mate has a 3dr 16v h reg 9a engine fully rebuilt, sure it's no show winner, could do with a respray, but he's struggling to get viewers at 1500 start price (will accept a bit less). I think it's the current times.. Right now for 4grand you get A decen 20vt mk2 that doesn't need paint!! I'd say in good times an 8v is worth a grand, a mate sold his j plate digi 3dr royal blue for 1200 couple years back. I'd never pay more than 1k for an 8v, even if it was lovely..Unfortunately it looks to me like people that HAVE to sell their cars due to space, lack of insurance or desperation for cash etc etc are literally getting their cars 'taken' off them right now.. Bad time to sell, good time to buy sorta thing

I paid 1100 for my 8v that needed some work such a pas. But there were so many cars at around 1600. Anything under 1000 had sh!tty body work. If I'm driving round in a mk2 it's a priority that it looks good. Would rather have a sh!t engine than sh!t paint and body work

I brought my 1990 GTI Cabrio (Black) yesterday for £1,300 - it passed an MOT in April & is very solid, some minor bodywork needs doing but it not a rust bucket by any means.

I think i got a bargin, these cars are only ever going to increase in vale as they blow up & get crashed.

I paid a G for my 90H 8v last August.
Its engine was tired but the bodywork very good albeit a two rust spots on the drivers door (no biggie) and its rear bumper is flakey, But interior was mint, no rust on the scuttle which seems common on similar age Mk2's and its belly is very clean.
The dude selling it wanted £1500 and was adamant that it wouldn't be going any cheaper. I drive a hard bargain though and got him down to a grand after seeing his pregnant mrs and implying that he would 'need the money soon'.
All depends on the Seller, Buyer and Car bartering points.
You gotta be wise these days.
