MOT- £30 (fingers crossed) :lipsrsealed:
Tax - £115ish (using pay from the next month)
Service - £0 Reset and ignore

JOKES!!!!

Buy the basics from Euro car parts (or similar) and do it yourself! Plenty of write ups in the maintenance section and on youtube

I have also had an expensive month, it must be something to do with owning a Golf!

 Steering rack, £225
 Rear diff £150
 Wiper blades, £30
 track rod ends, £45
VCDS £260 (because of all the lights on the dash!)
 4 tyres £650
 Brakes all round £200
 Headlight washer pump, £25
 MOT £45 Failed
 Insurance £335
Tax £280 when it passes MOT

To add to all this, my son has a Lupo, he snapped a spark plug, so one set of easy outs £12 and a set of spark plugs £25, this car has MOT on Monday, so I am sure it will need something.

Finally I had to buy new discs for our Fabia VRS as I have done a few track days and the race pads have destroyed the discs, so re fitted standard pads with new discs today, discs cost £49

The joys of motoring I guess.

I felt slave to that 'VW' stamp with my Golf, however, when the car is as old as they are now, are you honestly thinking of resale value? :undecided:

I opted for the minor service, got the frickin stamp, and did all the rest of the servicing myself  I know for a fact withy Rocco, that I won't be paying over the odds for that darn stamp :lipsrsealed: Live and learn they say...

I am sure it will settle down once all sorted, I bought the car cheap and this is where I went wrong, I broke my own rule of if it is too cheap, then it is too cheap for a reason, however I am the owner now and I hope to run the V6 beasty for a while and maybe even turbo it, that will be next year though, so I need it to be right now.
So if anybody needs VCDS I am happy to help for a small fee, have to pay for my car somehow.

This will be the 1st maintenance thing I've had to do as brought my car last aug for £1000 being a newbie owner wanted to have no expense spared but that could change lol

Mk4's are a lovely car to work on, largely because you get a decent amount of practise  and because most things can be done yourself with the right tools! In all seriousness, as the platform has been around for sometime now, there isn't a single maintenance or problematic issue that fellow dubbers haven't come across. This means great advice, and lots of detailed step by step guides out there!

I got my confidence to work on cars entirely from my mk4, and from following guides! :afro: Just wish that there was more help for the Rocco :lipsrsealed:
