Can someone help me please! about an hour in to a long journey yesterday my car decided it wanted to be a kangaroo while the choke was off. (so the car was fine when choke was all the way out.) today i have cleaned all the jets but if i'm correct the bottom butterfly inside the car should move with the top one when accelerating? it don't seem to be moving at all.. red circle in photo might help a bit. if im right what could be the problem?
weber 32/34 jetted for my 1.3.

do you mean the second throttle butterfly? if so is it vacuum operated secondary?

basically, i was driving for about 2 hours when my car decided to splutter and die. it will only work while the choke is fully pulled out (closing the choke inside the carb)
its just none stop poping and farting.

if i remember right the second choke is kept closed against a spring by engine vacuum. when you floor it and vacuum drops the spring pushs open the second choke. but it sounds to me like you have dirt in your fuel causing a partial blockage somewhere in the line. get yourself a can of clean fuel and a piece of fuel hose. put 1 end of hose to fuel pump and other end in to can and fire it up to see if runs better. we had a jetta on the moor back in the day doing the same thing so i pulled the fuel feed hose and stuck it on to the screenwash bottle and filled that with petrol. my gawd the thing fly after that. mind you we had pretty much gutted it to a bare shell bar the drivers seat so was kinda featherweight lol
