Mk7 GTI Spotted
« on: 28 June 2013, 18:42 »
I was followed home for part of my Journey by a Night Blue GTI which headed off up towards Kirkburton / Emley ( not aware of anyone on here who lives so near to me?)

Definitely a private car and not a demonstrator as it was sporting a private reg OO 10 ??? And it did have the ACC in the lower grill.

Thoughts? It looked OK - admittedly i didnt get a really good look as we were moving but I was disappointed how underwhelmed I felt about it :( I thought I'd have been wowed although must admit I liked the LED running lights an the red/blue contrast.

Anyone else had this experience?

What were you expecting? It's not a car that shouts at you and says hey look at me - we all know that. It's understated which is no bad thing when it accelerates and flies past you

I think I was hoping to see "upgrade time" in the mirror  you know that "buy me buy me" look?

You will know it's upgrade time when it disappears into the horizon

Let's hope the f**king engine in this one doesn't f**k itself like the 5 (cam follower) and 6 (lower chain tensioner).

German engines haven't been so hot for the last decade eh?
Just found the perfect GTi...

I saw a CSG GTI driving around near us last night in East Yorkshire, looked OK but not as nice as I'd have thought going by pics I've seen.  Probably the sort of colour that looks nicer up close, but anyway, it sounded great!
