How expensive, difficult is it to install new clocks, after some engine work my speed gauge just doesn't go high enough and being an 8v any over 120 is just a guess.

Do you need to know? When you hit 120 just make the speed up after that ... "Yeah I hit 210 back there, crazy"

It's a mk2. Fill it, drive it, enjoy it.

From memory, 8V's are geared at around 20mph per 1000rpm in 5th. Are you expecting to be able to achieve more than 6000rpm in 5th gear?

I want a reasonably accurate bragging right. It used to only just get 115 before some mods but now we are soaring past the 120 mark. The needle hits the stop at where I would guess is 125. Also if your 8v's only went 110 then they wernt tuned or running right

you can get a speedo head that goes to 140mph or if that's not enough
there is also the 16valve speedo head that goes to 160mph. just make sure it has the number 1540 at bottom of dial face if you running a standard 3.66 diff and it will work fine.

Have some issues with transonic drag, might fit a water methanol injection system to allow for increased combustion. Perhaps fuselage wasting

Thats why I would never take a punt on buying a ported and polished head and cams off ebay etc. That sort of thing should be done by taking your car to TSR etc yourself so you know what exactly has been done, Have you got documents etc proving this?
