Just been for a ride in my mate's new (second hand) Civic Type-R.  He didn't quite fully floor it, but compared to my recent GTI test drive it seemed to me like a vast amount of revving for very little G-pushed-into-your-seat-Force.  The Civic whines like crazy while gently pushing you forward, the GTI did a low growl while throwing you into the seat back...

Then again, he paid 20-25% of what I'm paying for my GTI so...

Also how many driver information screens do Honda think you need?  I counted 4 separate LCD displays on that thing.  Only the Nav was colour though.

Thing about the Type R is that they work best at high revs - which means you have to nail it all the time to get the best out of it.  The GTI delivers power throughout the revs - and will give you miles better consumption.  I'd rather pay the extra cash!  :laugh:
