Difference gt and gti

Hi all, what's the difference between a gt and a gti, test drove a few gtis, they don't seem that quick? What usually go wrong with these cars?

GT as in petrol?  Only 150bhp vs 200bhp of the GTI; no contest really!!

There is only ONE GTI  :wink:

You seem that fifth gear clip about the difference in fuel, they tested the gti on vpower and it came out 168 bhp, that gti was about 6 months old, iv test drove a few and they all seem slow, e en the works can feels faster lol.

At the Fly or wheels?

Standard they feel a bit flat; remap transforms them into the car they should be  :wink:

Fly, they took the wheels off. I would get it remapped but would I need to get a competition clutch fitted?

Must have been a sh!tter  :whistle:

Nope. Although it depends how is been driven

Mapped one the other week with 125,000 miles on the clock, original clutch  :smug:

The twincharged 1.4 GT?
They were 170 BHP weren't they, same power as the more powerful TDIs?

I thought both the GTs with visible exhaust tips were 170 BHP, regardless of petrol or diesel power?

Reducing my Golf count by the week....
..but gaining motorcycles.
