MK4 gear box
« on: 22 June 2013, 19:54 »
Did any Mk4 Gti's come with LSD's?

Reason I ask is I have just picked up a gearbox that appears to have one fitted.
Its from a 2002 1.8 Gti apparently.

When I turn one of the output flanges the other side turns in the same direction.

Either it has an LSD or there is a fault with the box.

The diff in it is probably stiff. I had this on a gearbox I bought.  Jam one of the cups an turn the other.

Not with your hands. Put bolts in the cups and use levers.
