Axle stand points for the MK7
« on: 21 June 2013, 08:33 »
Hi guys, OK I know this is a bit premature, but as I'll be doing a full detail of the Golf when it arrives, that will also include removing the wheels to fully decontaminate them before sealing them. With that in mind, I usually put the car up on axle stands after jacking up with a trolley jack on the stock lifting points on the sills.

As the MK7 MQB platform and suspension is subtly different from the previous MK5/MK6 set up, does anyone know where the best locating points are for putting axle stands safely after lifting ?

Cheers

Must be the same as for a standard mk7 Golf.  So... what we need is the manual for the standard mk7?

Unfortunately I don't think VW put them on-line because they actually sell them.  Skoda has them on-line though.  Could take a gander at whatever their MQB vehicle is and see if it is obvious how that translates to the Golf?

Bill, I think the standard manual just gives you the sill jacking points. What I am looking for is once the car is up on the jack (using the standard jack points in the sills), where does the axle stand go under each corner ?
