Mk2 engine swaps , not the norm

I've got a g reg mk2 with a mk3 gti 8v(1996) lump in it I've just bought a vr6 auto with 10000 on clock n want swap engines, how easy will it be n can I use my gear box any help would be amazing I've all ways loved the sound of a vr6 n I've got a good shell with my mk2 I've fully poly bushed the mk2 bigger brakes upgraded engine mounts ,

no its a different box and clutch on vr6. there is quite a bit involved in that conversion.
