Think I've got to the bottom of it - the cause anyway!

It only cuts out when the radiator fan kicks it, once it goes off it seems to be OK.

Would this mean the fan is drawing too many amps off the battery/alternator at idle? the battery/alternator can't provide enough to keep it ticking over?

Its fine with a few more revs on!!

Or does the ISV (anything else?) need a good clean out - I have rinsed it but not left it soaking overnight.

Any theories???

Err ISV? What does that stand for  :embarassed: ?

Mines doing a similiar thing and have now bought all service items etc ...  and new Bosch fuel pump and filter and it still does it,ohh and its had co setting and its still in garage but the very helpful/friendly Manager at Lucas has suggested it maybe the Lift pump in the tank? So thats next i guess? Will let you know how it goes?

Idle stabilisation valve, its what keeps the idle nice and steady - its in the top front left of the rocker cover as you look at the engine, compensates the idle whe you have the headlamps, heater etc.. running.

I should give it a good clean then I can rule it out!
