I bought a b5.5 TDI sport wagen recently with all the toys and its a great car, planning on keeping it for years. Getting out of my mk3 and into that is like sliding into an armchair with a paper and slippers and a cup of hot chocolate after a long day!!!  :nerd:

Not selling my mk3 just yet, but i do admit the thought of a mk4 gttdi with that little bit more refinement and 50-60mpg does cross my mind from time to time!

How about an Audi S2 Avant (based on an Audi 80 shell) for between £2.5k and £5k? You can insure it on a classic policy if you're of a certain age. Fast, practical and fun.

Otherwise you can pick up the Audi 80 Avant in 2.8l Quattro or even a slow as crap 1.9TDI if economy is your concern? Parts are cheap and widely available and they are easy to work on. More interesting than a Passat that's for sure but each to their own.

Sounds bizarre I know but what about a Mondeo ST220 Estate? Not my cup of tea but you can pick them up very cheap and they are pretty rapid and they have the space you are looking for.

Put the car in the classified section before I ebay it, and not after any sort of estate, I think the standard looking cupra is my first choice, something newish and comfy but can be easily played with

My 1.8T Passat is fantastic!
Get a remap and you will have 180bhp or more if its a newer model than mine.
The car is super comfy but still handles well.
Loads of room if you are doing things like a run to the tip etc.

Is there alot more room in a cupra compared to a mk3 golf? or do you just want something newer?

I'm surprised why the Mk3's dont sell that quick, i mean Tweed is selling is VR6 for peanuts, I've got my own VR for sale at a good price and am willing to drop it lower if i get genuine interest. and they not selling.

I've got 2 micra super S's, one's a K10, the other K11. I sold my K11 2 days ago, it were on ebay for 3-4 days and it got sold really quickly. i've got 2 potential buyers interested in the K10 also. and i'm still getting calls for the K11 asking if i've still got it. ohh and i've got these micras advertised at £1500 each. one has gone, the other will go soon
