cleaning wishbones

Got some TT wishbones and before I fit them am wanting to give them a clean up.
What's the best way of going about this? Wire brush then hammerite?

Yes probably, unless you send them off to be blasted and powder coated....

I normally use some brake cleaner on an old microfiber cloth, I clean all around that area while I'm down there

What the f**k are your wishbones monkey?! :shocked:

Wire brush, APC, stiff bristle brush...All sorts. Give them a good scrub and then a coat or two or hammerite.

Get a steel wire wheel for the end of your drill. It'll knock all the old rust and bits off then slap on some paint. You can do it with a hand wire brush but doing them with a wheel and the drill will only take you a few minutes.

I might not have read the OP, I would also opt for metal wire wheel, it will remove everything quickly or you could have it all sandblasted if you plan to do the rear beam subframe and a lot of other bits.

My wishbones are usrt, combined with some good handling mods it makes for a balanced car and bares no resemblance to the original handling characteristics.
