I've ordered a Pure White GTD and am seriously thinking about changing the colour to Carbon Grey. Went for white mainly because I don't have a garage and the car is on the main road at night all year round. White hides the majority of swirls and scratches where as the metallic grey would show every mark. Problem is though I really like the carbon grey and am seriously tempted but I know it will mean being even more ocd than with the white. Any advice?

I think about the same thing for DBP every 2nd day lol.

I saw a standard golf in DBP at night at a petrol station and colour looked very classy. Then I saw a candy white Golf R which looked nice too. It's a tough one.

No don't do it. Nooooooooo...!

Sorry, overreacted there a little bit.  It is a tough one, which colour do you think would be better with the GTD highlights? I'm leaning towards saying the carbon grey.  However I do think the white will have everything else beat nine situations out of ten.

Only two colours i seriously considered were white and carbon, i must say the GTD looks better in it than the GTI imo but as Bear says, which one could you live with?? I'm quite OCD when it comes to the car but i think the grey would've drove me nuts!! :D

I've not seen a carbon grey one but I saw a red one in the flesh today and although nice it didn't really do anything for me. The darker colours really mask the black 'fins' on the bumper which makes the car stand out more.

I'm sticking with white after seeing those autoscout pics. it still just blends in to nothingness.

Those autoscout pics are quite dark. You need to see one out of the showroom. The grey will be almost as difficult to keep clean as DBP, and as mentioned before, a colour that has contrast with the fins and other features makes the GTI/GTD stand out immediately from the rest of the Golf range.
Whey ya bugger! It's finally arrived after an 8 month wait....
