Need help, speeding issue.
« on: 15 June 2013, 17:22 »
So after getting caught doing 35 in a 30 I finally got my letter through the post but the registration was WRONG. Where do I stand, what do I do? Pay the fine and get the 3 points?? The reg isn't even registered on the DVLA.

As you can see the reg in the letter does not relate to my car at all.

For starters I'd crop the image down to remove your address from a public forum

I'd assume that as the registration is incorrect the ticket is invalid, however I'm not certain :undecided:

I'd say they can still prosecute as they'll just say it was a clerical error and refer to the issuing officers records.

Here's a copy of the ticket I received on the day. Can see the error, the cop made it look like a U instead of an 1J. Thanks for the advice. Il ring them Monday and see what they say, I won't pay the fine until I revive the correct information for the right car. First time I've been done speeding since I passed my test (6years) so was kinda expecting the speed awareness course. :/

Are you asking if this is a way to get out of the fine? You were caught fair and square, take it on the chin mate! It sucks but thats life!
