MK6 Remap - Who did you go with?
« on: 14 June 2013, 16:52 »
Ok, called R-Tech who said they arnt really doing the MK6 GTI maps yet as there is still a bit of risk with it.

He told me that Shark Performance are the guys to go with at the moment, anyone had a map with them on their MK6 with them.

If not, who did you go with...would prefer a company midlands or the north, cheers

There's not as many TSI software tuners outside of the big names due to the age of the motor.

RTech will have their hands full with 1.8T and TFSI remaps for some time yet and the TSI will require extra time and development on top of this.

I went with Revo as it was under an hour's travel for me at a garage with plenty of experience of tuning VAG engines.

There weren't any independent software tuners nearby either.

I know you went with REVO, but who applied it for you / which branch.

TSI has been out for 4 years with the GTI and scirocco - I thought tuners would be all over it.

JKM Portsmouth.

There's still a bigger market for 1.8T and TFSI I guess.

There are loads of Revo resellers across the UK, the main reason I chose JKM is because of experience.

You could give Shark a go?

I think you have to factor as well as location, budget, whether you want switchable, are you likely to progress to Stage 2, tsi maps have been out for 4 years plus

True I wanted switchable map on this occasion so that narrows it down a fair bit!

TBH...i think ill be staying at stage one for at least a year. No monies for a K04, BBK and TBE yet....

so its just choosing the most experience people up north for the job....Search begins

Also, anyone had any issues with manual clutch even at stage 1? wouldnt have thought so....but worth asking.

There has been a couple of theads about clutch and revo maybe worth doing a search for them.
Mk6 GTI  &  Mk1 GTI
34 years of GTI ownership.
